Weiss Jing Cymbal - 15" (JING15)

The Steve Weiss 15 inch "Big Head" Jing Cymbal is a traditional hand cymbal that traces it's origins to Tibetan monks. These hand cymbals are typically played in pairs and crashed together. They are loud, with a sound very different from a western cymbal. The pitch is much lower and the tone more sustained and resonant. The sound trails off with a low tone that drones on. They can also be played in non traditional ways with sticks and mallets for a more varied tonal palette
