Calissi-Windsong-M (4.5 octave)

Windsong by Jeff Calissi is a four mallet solo scored for 4.5 octave (low F) marimba. This piece has two contrasting movements. The first movement is a mixture of modes that are reflective of the composer's interest in film scores. The second movement employs a fast rhythmic pace in tribute to the composer's beginnings in drum set playing. When combined, these two movements give the listener a wide range of styles and melodies to enjoy.
