Yamaha 18" DXS XLF Powered Subwoofer

The Yamaha DXS18XLF-D 18" Powered Subwoofer is the Dante-equipped version of Yamaha's DXS18XLF. At its core is an 18" proprietary transducer with a 4" voice coil, ferrite magnet, die-cast aluminum frame, and dual damper, the latter of which significantly reduces unwanted movement and distortion during high output, contributing to the DXS18XLF-D's clean low-end performance down to 30Hz.

The onboard D-XSUB DSP processing gives engineers three distinct low-frequency modes to work with. Normal mode delivers a balanced, natural low-frequency response. Boost mode tightens and focuses the bass with additional punch. Xtended LF mode pushes the low-frequency extension further than you'd typically expect from an 18" cabinet, useful for applications requiring maximum sub-bass presence. In multi-sub configurations of two or more units, Cardioid Mode redistributes output directionally, reducing stage-side SPL while increasing low-frequency energy toward the audience, resulting in a cleaner monitor mix and a more controlled stage environment.

The "D" designation indicates full Dante integration via dual etherCON CAT5e ports supporting daisy-chain topology, 2IN/2OUT at sample rates up to 96kHz, and SRC for compatibility with 48kHz devices. This pairs naturally with Yamaha CL/QL consoles, with simplified patching from the I/O device display, and TF console users have access to Quick Config for fast system setup. The 1600W Class-D amplifier runs on a 96kHz DSP backbone with AD/DA conversion to match, and the Polyurea-coated plywood enclosure holds up well in demanding touring and install environments.
