This is a very, very solid, multi-functional cymbal stand. I purchased it mainly for when I play in pit orchestras for musicals, for clamping auxiliary percussion instruments such as temple blocks, bar chimes, a bell tree, and/or for mounting triangles, etc. This is the second one that I have purchased and probably will not be the last. It is very smooth and easy to adjust and operate (unlike a lot of cymbal stands). It has a very low center of gravity (due to the low crossbars on the tripod, that are parallel to the floor) which makes it ideal for mounting heavier equipment items. The telescoping cymbal boom is a bonus. I highly recommend this item.

I bought this for my wife. We do a few gigs outdoors and she needed some weight in her stands to keep the wind from blowing them over. This baby does the trick. She loves Yamaha gear. She has a double kick set of Yamaha wood raps that sound great.
