I direct a number of percussion ensembles during the year and this is a *perfect* addition to my/our collection(s). Lightweight, inexpensive, and handles everything I use it for. I bought four just to have around! -Makes me wonder what we thought we were hitting so hard in the nineties to have to double brace everything. :) As with all cymbal stands, though, I'm always having to stay vigilant about students overtightening wing nuts and stripping gear. Otherwise, great!

This is seriously the only stand I ever need 99.9% of the time. I use a heavier stand only when I'm attaching temple blocks, mark tree, sus cym, and other accessories off it using add-on boom arms.
If you just want an awesome, reliable stand to hold a cymbal forever, here you go.

'light weight' is, of course, relative. i've been replacing all my heavier cymbal stands with this yamaha model and i am very happy with the functionality and durability of the CS655A. this is the perfect cymbal stand for me and, unless you obliterate cymbals and stands regularly, recommend you try this one, too.
