Good drum but terrible drum stand

The drum stand that ships with this kit is far too big and heavy and doesn't even fit the drum correctly . The center rod is too long and can not be lowered to a proper level for a young drummer. The added weight makes it difficult for a young student to carry the backpack. Too bad because the drum is actually great.
