I have three of these for my rack toms and I haven't a single complaint. I'd read elsewhere that some people would have issues with the ball breaking under pressure, and was thus hesitant. However having had them for about a year and a half now I can say there are no issues with breakage...if you use them properly. The ball is plastic and works basically by a bolt putting pressure on it. If you were to crank the tension on it down tight I could see it breaking. However it is designed as such that very little tension is needed to hold the ball in place. I barely put any pressure on and have not a single issue with my toms losing there position, and by no means am I light player. Overall these are great mounts, and save for the hex rack mounts wouldn't trade them for anything else on the market.
