Zaninelli-Speak Gently... (SP)-B/2V/M/P

This is a quite reflective work for keyboard quartet. The entire duration of this work does not surpass Mezzo-Forte. Many interesting texture are created with Zaninelli's use of the keyboard instruments.

Performers and audiences around the world know the music of Luigi Zaninelli as work that excites the senses and stimulates the mind. Following high school, Gian-Carlo Menotti brought him to the Curtis Institute of Music. At age 19, the Curtis Institute sent him to Italy to study composition with the legendary Rosario Scalero (the teacher of Samuel Barber and Menotti).

Upon graduation, Zaninelli was appointed to the faculty of the Curtis Institute.  In 1964, he returned to Rome to compose film music for RCA Italiana. During that period, Zaninelli became conductor/arranger for Metropolitan Opera soprano Anna Moffo.
