This chrome metal Bell Plate measures 9″x8″. This plate produces a loud higher pitched metallic sound and is extremely functional for many types of music.
This is a great sounding bell tone at a reasonable price. I'm in a Beatles tribute band. This is perfect for the fire bell clang on "Penny Lane" . This is well made, and the rope is strong. I recommend the Liberty One Wind Gong Adaptor (SW-WGA) to hang it from.

Great old versatile sound effect!
Comments:
I've been looking a long time for a bell plate gong! Boy, was I glad to finally find this quality item at Steve Weiss Percussion (along with many other "vintage" sound effects). The plate, suspended on a quality rope, has a great bell tone, and will not disappoint you in the versatility it can provide in all types of music/soundtracks. My favorite use is as a water gong - hit the plate, lower it slowly into a container of water, and you have the classic water gong mournful sound that pervades suspense thrillers, horror movies, etc. This is a must have for any percussionist, and the Steve Weiss product rules!

catalog photo gives the impression that the plate is hammered in some way. not true-it's a flat shiny surface. nice variety of sound and pitch differences from center to edges, when played with various beaters, sticks and mallets. especially good for a plate this small.
