The Liberty One Pop Gun creates a pop sound effect used in many popular pieces of music and theater performances throughout the years. The Pop Gun is durable and reliable featuring a metal and true cork construction. The cork is easy reloaded with...
Thisw is the one, THAT sound. It absolutely nails it. It's also a beautiful, ergonomic object, a joy to play.
Maintenance note- mine arrived a bit dry and squeaky out the box. I used a little silicon based lubricant on the plunger and it's great now, nothing but 'pop!'.

Did not play well. Difficult to get any volume. Felt like it was 10 years old instead of brand new.

Pop gun, although impressive to look at, doesn't function very well at all. You would be better off buying a kids toy or this over engineered instrument.

excellent customer service
Comments:
I ordered this pop gun for some concerts I will be performing in this summer. At first I couldn't get it to work but I reached out to say I was having trouble. Emily responded quickly and sent me a video that she had made for another lady drummer which helped out greatly. I have been using it successfully at rehearsal for a couple of weeks now, though I do have to play it by jamming it just above my hip bone and just below my waist in front, guess I'm too old to have the arm strength to play it the other way (be pushing it strongly). It sounds great. I'm sure glad because it wasn't cheap. I'm glad that I have it.

You won't find one anywhere else
Comments:
This pop gun sound effect is much longer than the ones from decades past. It has a good, loud sound and frankly, I couldn't find one of these anywhere except for Steve Weiss. Worth the purchase.

Great Instrument; Needs Directions!
Comments:
The Weiss Pop Gun makes a great sound! It just took me took me a week and several emails to figure out how to make it work! Even the video from Weiss was not clear because the mechanism is, to me, so counter-intuitive. Occasionally a very strong push misfires so the player must become very familiar with the instrument to insure consistency. But it DOES make a great POP!

Good sounding gun
Comments:
I've used this model on a Broadway show tour where a misfire is big no-no. This gun is reliable if cork is loaded securely and you fire it in one motion. To fire it one-handed put the ball into your gut or on your leg if seated at drum kit. I put Velcro on the ball to prevent it slipping off body and causing a misfire. The little double-threaded metal piece that connects both rods can work loose during breakdown/storage/transit. If you lose it, the gun is worthless. It's happened to me.
Would love Weiss to offer REPLACEMENT CORKS.
Thank you, Lee

Pop Gun
Comments:
This is the IDEAL sound for a percussion ensemble or concert band.
I am not giving it a 5 due to my concern that the cork will not last much more than 3 months, with daily use in rehearsals/performances.
Love The Sound!

item and customer service
Comments:
I want to give a shout out to Weiss - great product, fast delivery and amazing customer service. I had an issue - which turned out to be MY issue, human error in using the item(whoops) - BUT customer service was right on it, sent me another product immediately, gave me a return label for the other. When I realized my mistake, they were equally understanding. It was a great experience all around. The product is perfect for my needs, high quality, and I would highly recommend them to colleagues and friends!! THANK YOU!!!

Best Pop Gun in the World
Comments:
I mean, it's the only one I found that wasn't a toy, and it's a SERIOUS pop gun. A pop gun for the ages. Makes a huge, controlled, sharp, pop. My only complaint is that there's no obvious way to get a replacement cork. We'll have to work on that. Excellent product otherwise!

Pop gun
Comments:
The price was a bit high, but it is loud and cuts over the rest of the orchestra. It was loud enough to make the dancers jump the first time I used it. The two draw backs are "reloading" for quick repeats, and the fact that it takes two hands. A clamp to hold it in place needs to be designed so it can be played with one hand to allow for the rapid switches that we musical theater pit musicians have to make.

Good Pop Gun
Comments:
Although the price is a bit steep for a "special effect", the pop gun works wonderfully. It is very well made, and will last for many years. I was happy with it.

What a pop!
Comments:
When I first got this pop gun I thought that mine was defective. It took a few minutes before I realized that you really have to use some force to pop the cork out of the barrel. It sure is loud! Great gunshot or champagne bottle sound; perfect for the theater percussionist.

Yes
Comments:
Pop guns. No one could care less about them until you're four bars away from your solo (it's always a solo) wondering if the thing is going to work or not.
This one, though, is solid. The cork is attached to the metal handle rod, not a string. Very reliable, and a fast reload time. Nice full champagne-cork sound. The Mercedes Benz of pop guns.
