Gerald Carlyss inspired me to try to play with a beautiful sound. This felt really helps, and I'm grateful to Steve Weiss Music for making it available in the USA.
I use the felt exclusively for the felt recovering of my beloved early-mid-70s Firth T1s, T3s and T6s timpani mallets (rock maple shafts! Yes!) which now function solely as "practice-only" mallets. The process of splitting the felt is indeed somewhat awkward but the felt itself is of consistently good quality and the longevity is consistently reliable.
Excellent quality but could stand to be slightly more compacted than it currently is. It is also somewhat harder to split evenly then the German felt of former days. Still, I'm glad to have access to it, and as usual, Weiss's shipping is exceedingly prompt.
