Exceptional feel, would recommend
The Innovative Percussion Christopher Lamb CL-X4 Xylophone Mallets produce a balanced, versatile sound with increased brightness and projection. Featuring a nylon top-weighted core, this model delivers a clear, focused tone that remains controlled across dynamic ranges.
With its moderate weight and excellent balance, the CL-X4 is a dependable choice for orchestral repertoire requiring both presence and flexibility.

Exceptional feel, would recommend
These mallets are well-balanced and -weighted. My first use of them was playing Pirates of Penzance, and these were perfect for Modern Major General. (As an aside, it's possible a slightly harder mallet might be desirable for that tune on a rosewood instrument, but I used a synthetic-bar Adams xylophone and they were ideal). There's only a slight difference in sound between these and the CL-X5s, but the head is smaller and the feel is different.
The brass inserts give these mallets a big, full sound, even when playing from a low striking position, so you don't have to sacrifice volume when playing at fast tempos.
While there is a full sound, the overtones at better heard here than with the CL-X5. This is a great mallet for any piece where the xylophone needs to jump over a big ensemble and blend at the same time. This is too much for a small ensemble. These also make crotales project more like chimes and it's awesome.
A slightly fuller sound than the red ones. Can put a bigger sound on exposed excerpts with these.
