These mallets were recommended by my teacher as I begin four-mallet study. I like the tone on marimba, vibes, and even xylophone! Might not be aggressive enough in a large ensemble playing loudly, but for practice, or lower-volume groups, excellent! My only problem is the shafts are so long ... but I'm a two-mallet player trying to learn Stevens grip!
