I bought these for my 6th grade son for band. Last year I bought a cheaper pair I found on Amazon. Those were smaller, lighter weight and softer. The stick on one broke. This year I asked his teacher which mallets to get. My son likes these much better, just tonight he said it is so much better to play using these mallets because he doesn't have to hit the bells so hard. A great set and a great price.
