Mallets are great for more than just marching ensembles. Great, full sound - but Innovative needs to take the time to match pairs before they sell them.
Description
The James Ancona series is designed specifically for use in both indoor and outdoor marching ensembles. Jims mallets introduce a new dowel, sealed with a unique finish for improved grip during playing. Designed to complement our other keyboard mallets used in marching situations, these new mallets will offer darker, warmer sound choices and a different feel for the marching keyboard percussionist.

These mallets are literally harder than rocks. And they speak so damn loud too. Awesome mallets.

I have used this type of mallet for both Concert and Marching Band. They are quite durable, the material of the stick has never snapped or broken! They sounds great not only on vibes, but on marimba and xylophone as well as most drums. The only problem is that the thread is pretty thin, so if they get wet (a little drizzle never stopped a marching band performance!) they may unravel. Just make sure to dry them with paper towel if they do get wet!
