Nice touch, but floppy

This is an excellent mallet. A great complement to the medium-hard in the series, but more geared toward lower registers. My only concern is the build quality. The head and core of the mallet are pristine, but the shaft is quite flimsy. A friend of mine owns the IP3105B's (the birch version), and the shaft is much more sturdy. I do prefer the rattan shaft's smooth, lacquered feel over the dry, sanded birch. But at high velocities, the flimsiness should definitely be a deciding factor.
