This is a great option for those looking for a beater that splits the difference between a bomber style lambs-wool head and a traditional felt head. Good low end, enough definition to for most jazz use, BUT, the yarn itself is quickly chewed up if you use a textured coated head, so you'll probably want to use the Kevlar patch that comes with your bass head before committing to this.
