I like these mallets because they have a very similar lightness as bamboo mallets because these ones are hollowed out. However, I don't really like the shape of the shaft. It's not a big con to me because I just got used to it however, you have to be weary that they are hollowed out. They will probably break a bit sooner than bamboo if I had to guess.

These mallets are great for the price. They served me well for about a year until I was playing a fortissimo passage and one mallet completely split in half. I've talked to a couple other people who have these mallets and they've had the same problem of them breaking.

These are great mallets, especially considering the price. As Inovative Percussion says, they do have the feel of bamboo. When I was in high school (many years ago) my band director & drum teacher, William Schinstine bought me 3 pairs of Hinger Touch Tone bamboo mallets & these have a nice feel & balance to them as bamboo.

The CT-3 and CT-4 are good mallets for players who need dynamic range from one pair of mallets when a mallet-change is not possible or practical. I致e used the Innovative Percussion Concert Timpani Series on professional series Adams, Yamaha, and Ludwig timpani with great success.

Great set of mallets for general timpani playing. Not too soft but have a nice medium articulation and great feel.
