Description

Vic Firth SRHTS Ralph Hardimon Tenor Sticks feature a full-sized shaft with an exceptionally large barrel tip. The thickness of the shaft assures a big sound and longevity. And with the oversized tip, it produces more clarity than mallets, especially with the "inner beats". In hickory.

DCI Hall of Fame member Ralph Hardimon explains, "Marching percussion arrangers have been exploring the use of sticks on tenors for several years now. The feel of the stick itself is desirable, and the sound tends to be bolder than a mallet. The great thing about this stick is that it has a feel that resembles my snare stick with a shorter length that is more comfortable for a tenor player to use."

Length: 15 15/16"
Diameter: .690"

I have not used too many tenor sticks, but so far this one is my favorite. It feels just like a snare stick, just shorter and much thicker, which helps produce a great sound. And the stick being short helps when you have to be extremely close to the drums, but even if you are far back it is not an issue. Probably the biggest challenge with this stick is doing scrapes, it is not too bad, just takes some adjusting. The only other sticks I have used are Vic Firth MTS1's and Promark Sean Vegas I believe. I would have to say that this one is my favorite at the moment. Easily would recommend to any tenor player or tenor line that uses Vic Firth. Hope this helps.

These tenor sticks work great. Beautiful sound when they are played in the zones. Amazing rim shots. These are the best pair of sticks any tenor player could get. They are light and allow a lot of free movement around the toms and provide great rebound from each head.

This tenor stick is definitely much better than the cookie tip kind. The cookie tip might make scrapes easier but the sound quality is not as loud, full and heavy as the corpsmaster. I have used this stick from the start. its short enough for crossovers and very flowing in diddles and French rolls. I recommend this stick to anyone in drum core or in their high school drumline. It might take a little bit of getting used to if you usually use a different type, but it adds very nice tone and richness to the sound quality.
