I have always preferred 200 mil Snare Reso Heads for their enhanced response at mid to low tuning! Sadly, as I have a collection of 15" and 16" Snares, Remo Diplomats are the only option. I anyone can tell if there is a company around that makes 200 mil heads in these sizes, please drop me a note!!! I just cannot understand Evans's stubborn resistance against making 15" / 16" thin snare resos, not even on special order!!!! I am sure they know that oversize snare drums are pretty common for orchestral use! Just why don't they make Evans Orchestral or Hazy heads in 15" / 16"??? What's the problem? If Remo can do that, why the heck not Evans????????? Thanks!

I used remo ambassador side head for the Canopus 1ply maple. You know it is a basically a drum set snare drum. And I use this with Evans 1000 staccato head, it changed to a concert snare drum immediately. It sounds great, tone is darker but very clean. I used it for my wind band rehearsal and certainly it match the different kind of music.

This 2 mill head is just perfect for snare drums when you want great snares sensitivity, even on deeper drums. Buy one!
