I have played many rock cymbals which are unpleasantly bright and only designed to cut with no musicality. This, however, is a very cutting cymbal but still sounds excellent from the drummer's perspective as well as on recordings. If you need an excellent rock crash, get this (or another size). Check eBay as these often go for much less used.
