Yamaha TF Series Digital Mixer - Product Information

The Yamaha TF Series Digital Mixers refine and simplify the task of mixing while still maintaining access to details that professionals need. TF refers to Touch Flow Operation. The responsive touch screen will give you a visual path to achieving a great sound on individual tracks as well as achieving a great overall mix. Yamaha has fused the Touch Screen Technology with the age old art and precision of tuning a knob. 100mm motorized faders also make fine tuning the mix fast and visual. A perfect centerpiece to your Marching Field PA System but can also be useful off the field and in your auditorium or band room.

The Touch Screen & Touch and Turn Knob

Yamaha has designed and refined the TF Series to allow most operations of the mixer to be carried out via the touchscreen. The responsive and smooth operation was Yamaha's goal here. 8 channels at a time are displayed on the screen. One touch adjustment parameters such as gain, EQ, Compression, Panning are easily accessed right on each channel strip. The layout of the path from microphone input to signal processing the TF series covers all bases in a detail oriented user-friendly method.

The Touch and turn knob located right beside the screen will give the user quick access to EQ control as well as signal processing adjustments. Yamaha has included one knob preset adjustments on the fly. You'll be able to see the adjustments made on the screen. Fast and easy was the goal.

Setup and operation

XLR-1/4 Combo jacks and a wide array of aux sends and output options are available on the TF Series mixers. Digital I/O options are also available as well as expandable slots to customize your mixer. Yamaha's GainFinder is a precision method that will have the board do the work of finding the perfect input gain levels for your mics. Of course, fine details can be manually adjusted for the pros as well. The 1-Knob COMP and 1-Knob EQ are easily accessed. 4 other control knobs are available and fully assignable.

The Channel faders have easy to see color coding and user labeling. All of which is backlit and can be seen in the lowest of light settings. Select the channel or channel group and parameters will be displayed for quick adjustments. The motorized faders are fully automatable.

Presets and Scene Memory

The TF Series is loaded with frequency Parameters from most Microphone companies. This aids in the precision of the GainFinder stage. A library of channel strip presets is loaded into the board memory of a quick start to your mix. Make your adjustments from there and save your own custom preset. Factory and User saved board scenes can be recalled quickly to save time and energy. This is perfect for the user who tours regularly and wants a quick start when returning to performance venue.

Remote operation

With the addition of a Wifi router (not included) just about all of the parameters of the TF Mixers can be controlled remotely from a tablet or smartphone. This is real handy when setting monitor mixes or level adjustments from different locations in the venue.

From the physical layout of the board to the deep editing and mixing options the TF Series mixers are a mighty workhorse and cost friendly valuable investment for the traveling ensemble, permanent house engineer or studio.
