The following list contains percussion equipment that will bring your student's arsenal of tools to a level of advanced preparedness. This list is recommended for percussion students who would either like to pursue a college degree in music or would like to continue their career with music either through performance gigging or as a hobby. Neither of the items listed here are required for participation in the Gatesville band. That being said, percussion uses a diverse set of instruments, so the more items your student obtains from this list, the more prepared they will be for future music assignments.
These items are designed to build your student's percussion inventory over time. If you already have some of these items, then you do not need to buy them again. If you have similar items, or would like to purchase similar items instead of the items on shopping list, please contact Mr. Gonzalez at rgonzalez@gatesvilleisd.org.
We realize that money can be a challenge, so if you cannot purchase everything, please contact Mr. Gonzalez to find out what is absolutely necessary for their current music assignments. We never want money to stop a student from being able to participate in band and we are willing to work with your individual circumstances!
