The 2.0 octave version of Pearl's malletSTATION EM Pro is the core of the entire EM Pro system: the EMC control module on its own, with the EMSC sound card included for standalone playing. It's the smallest footprint and lowest cost of entry into Pearl's professional electronic mallet platform, and because every larger configuration is built from this exact module, nothing about it is entry-level except the size.

What's in This Package

This configuration includes the EMC 2.0 octave control module, the EMSC sound card (pre-installed), and an AC power adapter. That's a complete, self-contained instrument with onboard sounds, ready to connect to an amp, PA, or headphones.

Expandable as Needed

The EMC accepts up to three EMX 1.0 octave expansion modules, which slide onto the internal aluminum beams and lock in place to build a 3.0, 4.0, or full 5.0 octave instrument. Each EMX carries its own dedicated processor, so expansion never degrades response. Starting at 2.0 octaves doesn't paint you into a corner; you have the option of expanding later on as needed. If you just need something to trigger sound effects or cover bell, chime, and timpani parts in a pit book, the 2 octave option is a fine place to start.

EM Pro Performance

The playing surface uses Smart Fabric Technology from Muse Kinetics (KMI) on a 32-bit multi-processor, a substantial advance over the original EM1 in speed, bar precision, and dynamic range. The bars respond to dead strokes, dampening, and muting like an acoustic mallet instrument. The included EMSC sound card runs an internal sound engine on a Quad-Core ARM 64-bit 2.0GHz processor for computer-free performance, and the EM Pro doubles as a full MIDI controller over USB or 5-pin MIDI. A full-color multi-line screen, programmable backlit touch-sensitive buttons, and control sliders keep everything manageable mid-performance.
