Pearl malletSTATION EM Pro Controller with Sound Card, 3.0 Octave

The 3.0 octave configuration of Pearl's malletSTATION EM Pro covers the same three octave span as a standard vibraphone, which makes it the most compact version of the EM Pro that still feels like a complete instrument. 3.0 octaves will cover most of of general mallet work required in music theater settings without taking up a ton of space. With the EMSC sound card included, it's also fully standalone: power it up, plug into an amp or PA, and play, no computer required.

What's in This Package

This configuration includes the EMC 2.0 octave control module, the EMSC sound card, one EMX 1.0 octave expansion module, and an AC power adapter. Assembled, that's a continuous 3.0 octave playing surface with onboard sounds.

A Different Animal Than the EM1

Players coming from the original 3.0 octave malletSTATION EM1 will recognize the range and not much else. The EM Pro's EMC control module runs a 32-bit multi-processor that delivers a major jump in speed, bar precision, and dynamic range over the EM1. The bars use Smart Fabric Technology from Muse Kinetics (KMI) and respond to genuine mallet technique, including dead strokes, bar dampening, and muting, which matters enormously at vibraphone range where dampening is important to the sound.

Standalone Sounds and Control

The included EMSC sound card runs the internal sound engine on a Quad-Core ARM 64-bit 2.0GHz processor, taking the laptop out of the live rig entirely. The EM Pro still works as a full MIDI controller over USB or 5-pin MIDI whenever you want to drive virtual instruments. A full-color multi-line screen, programmable backlit touch-sensitive buttons, and control sliders handle sound selection and performance tweaks at the instrument.
