Remo Powermax Ebony Crimplock Marching Bass Drumhead - 14"

The Remo Powermax Ebony Crimplock 14" Marching Bass Drumhead is a 1-ply marching bass head built to address some of the common challenges that single-ply heads present. Single-ply heads project better and have a wider tuning range than 2-ply heads, but they tend to be less durable and require more frequent tune-ups. The Powermax Ebony tackles both of those issues with a 10-mil Ebony film and a Bottom Black Dot under the playing zone that reduces stretching and stabilizes the head under repeated mallet contact, meaning fewer tuning adjustments and a longer overall lifespan.

At 14", tuning stability and durability are especially important considerations since smaller bass drums need to be kept at higher tension to speak and respond properly. The pre-installed free-floating muffling ring focuses the tone and eliminates unwanted high-frequency overtones, keeping the sound controlled and articulate. The high-tension Crimplock hoop is built to hold up at the tension levels a drum this size demands, making it a reliable choice for marching band, drum corps, high school drumline, and competitive programs at the WGI and DCI level.
