Remo Powermax Ebony Crimplock Marching Bass Drumhead - 16"

The Remo Powermax Ebony Crimplock 16" Marching Bass Drumhead is a 1-ply marching bass head built to address some of the common challenges that single ply heads present. Single ply heads project better and have a wider tuning range than 2-ply heads, but they are less durable and require frequent tune-ups. The Ebony Powermax is constructed of one 10-mil Ebony film with a Bottom Black Dot in the center to increase stability and reduce stretching, meaning tuning adjustments are less frequently needed. The Black Dot also reinforces the head in the playing zone, which reduces mallet denting and extends the lifespan of the head.

The pre-installed free-floating muffling ring helps to focus the tone and eliminate unwanted high frequency overtones. The marching Crimplock hoop allows the drum to hold up to high-tension, and increases tuning stability - both are especially important considerations when dealing with smaller bass drums.
