The following consists of the required and recommended materials for Period 1 Steel Drum/Percussion Ensemble, Period 2 Honors Steel Drum/Percussion Ensemble, and Period 4 Honors Steel Drum/Percussion Ensemble. The required items are listed first, followed by the recommended items. If you already own some of these materials, you do not need to purchase them again. For the Concert Snare Drum Sticks, you can purchase EITHER the Vic Firth SD1s OR the Vic Firth Ted Atkatz sticks – you don't need to purchase both (even though both sticks are listed below). To diminish the financial impact over time, upon graduation or leaving the percussion program students may sell their sticks, mallets, practice pads, and stick bags to Santa Margarita Catholic High School for a reduced price if they so desire.
