Basically, A Toy.

Not too impressed with this product. It reminds me of a toy that young parents purchase to enculturate their small child into music. Basically, it is a toy. Small and flimsy, the tone is nothing like a woodpecker. Doesn't have a deep knock, it's more light and bright. Volume is on the lighter side. It is not without use, could be used as a staccato shaker.

This instrument, also called a Snocker by some companies, is heard on a lot of recordings and I had been trying to locate one for a while. Great sound. You shake it and it creates a clave-type sound...great for fast rolls and effects.
