The AquaSonic Waterphone is played by bowing or using fingers, mallets or whatever one can come up with on the bronze tines and resonating chamber to create the unique sounds. Many techniques can be utilized to create the variety of sounds like adding bow rosin to thines and bowing them, adding small amount of water to the resonating chamber allows the player to bend the tones being produced by manipulating the angle the waterphone is held at. The bottom surface of the resonating chamber can be effectively used as a frame drum for light finger drumming.
