Ben Wahlund's The Whimsical Nature of Small Particle Physics is scored for snare drum and soundscape CD. It was the 2nd place winner of the Keystone Percussion Composition Contest 2006. Musically, the work is inspired by the contributions of Masson and Delecluse, while at the same time humbly trying to give respect to the likes of Pratt and Wilcoxon.
