Hause-Air:Rounds:Parade (SP-6)-P OS - Product Information
Air-Rounds-Parade by Evan Hause is a three movement work for percussion sextet that was commissioned and premiered by the Oberlin Percussion Group. The first movement, Air, is performed on simple wind instruments - siren whistle, paper shriek, harmonicas, lead pipe, bottles, and slide whistle. The second movement, Rounds, is a 22-part expanding and contracting canon. The ensemble has the option of disregarding the composer's interpretation and substituting instruments to enhance this or other interpretations. The final movement, Parade, is a wild, abstract vision of a parade in the form of triple duo and, incidentally, conforming to the proportions underlying Air [ABACBCBACA]. This movement is a free, energetic handling of polyrhythmic materials resultant from the stricter Rounds in the spirit of Air.
