Patterson Replacement Snares - Product Information

Patterson Snares drastically reduce the annoying "slap" and "buzz" of old wire coils from 80% to 90%!

Wires only produce sound where the point of the coil actually touches the head. (No sound is produced by the empty coil space.) That translates to only 3-4 inches of surface contact on a typical set of wires. Patterson Snares lay against the entire surface of the bottom head, providing 14 to 23 feet of continuous head coverage. That represents 80 times the head contact of wires for greater sensivity and projection.

Patterson Snares are not mounted in cheap glue or plastic. They are guaranteed to never pull loose or break!

For every style of playing, Patterson Snares articulate clearly at all dynamic levels. When needed, they provide unbelievable power!

The Best

Comments:

If in doubt, get the stainless. I have those on my main two snares (5.5/14 and 4x14), and they're wonderful. Be sure to crimp them per the installation instructions, and to avoid tuning your reso side too tight--the lower you go, the more snap is revealed by these beauties. So, if your drum already has some low end to it, get the stainless. Very bright drums warrant the combination cables. I have the blue ones on a late 60s 10x14 marching snare and they sound perfect--better than guts, believe it or not.

Patterson Replacement Snares Snares

Comments:

Product is fantastic! Works wonders in reducing extraneous "wire buzz" that snare wires tend to produce--but they DO produce the kind of snare" buzz" I want from the snare drum itself--NOT from the wires! Wonderful "substitute"!! Carl Raven

nice product

Comments:

I have an old Slingerland 15" Concert snare that I wanted cable snares for. The CL-20 fit perfect and they sound great. The old drum is perfect for Sousa. Weiss doesn't have it listed, but the Patterson lists the CL-20 for 15" concert drums in the package. May get another set for my 15 Premier Field Drum.
