Morgan-River of Life (SP)-Solo tenor pan/B/2V/X/2M/4T/DS/ opt. BG - Product Information
River of Life by Tom Morgan was commissioned by a consortium of five different college percussion teachers. The idea was to write a piece featuring solo steel pan with percussion ensemble, using the steel pan a little bit differently than it is traditionally used. While there are elements of the piece that sound more or less "traditional" to the style usually associated with the steel drum, it also treats the instrument as a solo voice in a more traditional percussion ensemble setting. The title reflects the flow of the piece that is like our life journey with all its twists, turns, changes and challenges. It is a celebration of the joy of living.
