Great replacement for Big R Dynasonic snare wires

Comments:

I have a Rogers Big R era Dynasonic and the original snare wires were breaking away from the frame. It looked like they were originally glued on and there was a very small strip of clear plastic. I bought the Puresound replacement snare wires and was very pleased with how they fit and sound. I did take some Dr. Scholl's moleskin (the drummer's friend!) and pad the area of the snare frame to fill the space between it and the snare wires themselves. I also used one thin metal washer under the snare wires to get a better bit on the two screws that hold the wires to the snare frame. I imagine it might work just fine as it is but I wanted to make sure there were no surprises. I have Puresound snares on several of my snares drums and this was the first replacement for a specific drum that I have purchased and was very pleased with the quality and the results. Steve Weiss is the best as usual.

Vintage Radio King Puresound snare wires

Comments:

Sound great. Holes have to be modified, drilled out to accept '50s Radio King screws from Clamshell throwoff.
