Yamaha Randall May ABS Auto Release Tenor Carrier - Product Information

The Yamaha Randall May ABS Auto Release Tenor Carrier allows players will no longer have difficulty getting in and out of their carriers. This new design allows performers to get in and out of the carriers quickly with out loosing fits adjustments. The Contour Hinge allows for independent upper and mid body contour adjustment to custom fit a wide range of player sizes. The Posto Series carriers also feature a polycarbonate abdominal plate, which is flexure fitting to reduce point loading, and can be inverted to reverse the shape. Additional features include infinite torso height adjustment and reversible ABS positioning, for larger players. Shoulder positioning can be fine-tuned by rotating the shoulder's caster down (into the back) and/or pivoting the camber angle (toward/away from the neck).

Comments:

Very disappointed with these carriers. I've had so many problems with them. The concept of the drop and lock system is so ridiculous. It's a 50/50 chance that I put the drums on and they will actually come down or won't come down. The shoulder parts push into your breast tissue causing it to bruise really badly. The ABS system hurts my back like hell. I took the carrier off feeling like I needed to see a chiropractor cause my back was so stiff from it. It doesn't rest on my spine properly no matter how many times I adjust the damn thing. Not to mention, my drum falls off of the carrier quite easily too and I've gotten really bad bruises on my legs because of it and just putting on it's very squeaky and makes ear piercing noises that make you want to rip your hair out. The padding is quite minimal too, just some thin pieces of foam that don't do much for the comfort of the player. Overall not happy at all with these carriers and will be sticking with Pearl Airframe carriers. At least those have some comfortable padding, designed with the player in mind and stick with a reliable J-bar system instead of the drop and lock system.
