Bekku-Kaleidoscope No. 2-M - Product Information
This work was premiered by Takayoshi Yoshioka in his recital on January 12, 2003. I had composed it in the year before at the request of the marimba player who wanted some simpler and good music, which could be played even with two mallets, unlike many works for the instrument which are intended for the display of transcendental techniques.
This collection is numbered "2". No. 1 is Suite Kaleidescope composed in 1967. It also consists of 10 small pieces for piano easy enough for children to play.
I have named these collection Kaleidoscopes because the little pieces constituting them vary widely in motif as what you see in a kaleidoscope would do as you turn its cylinder.
